Our fees and funding structure
Our top-tier fees apply to therapy with our core team of accredited therapists, whose appointments are usually peak-time on weekday evenings. These are the most highly qualified therapists in our practice.
While the therapists in our mid-tier service are fully qualified, have already gained significant therapeutic experience, and are now working towards accreditation.
Our off-peak service provides reduced-fee therapy with a carefully selected team of counsellors who are completing their training and working towards qualification.

Regular sessions and our cancellation policy
Our therapists commit to offering you regular appointments, usually on a weekly basis, because of the importance of maintaining the therapy conversation in ongoing and continuous sessions. That is the way for you to get the most out of the process. This approach supports the opportunity to build a personalised working relationship with you. Missed appointments or cancelled sessions are chargeable in full, apart from in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of your therapist. If you’re unable to make your regular appointment, please contact your therapist, as they may be able to offer you an alternative session that week, subject to availability.
We may be able to offer therapy at a reduced fee. This is negotiable depending on your circumstances and our availability. If you’d like to find out more, please contact us.
Payment Methods and Insurance
You can pay for your sessions by debit card, credit card, cash, online banking transfer or by cheque payable to The Grove Practice Limited. We’re charged by the card companies for using a card payment facility; and this minor charge is passed onto those who choose to pay by card. While there is no transaction fee charged for payment by debit card, the charge for payment by credit card is 3%.
Your counselling sessions can also be funded by private health insurance. We work with a number of medical insurers including Allianz, Aviva, BUPA, Cigna, PruHealth, Simply Health, Standard Life and WPA. If you’d like to start up the process of funding your therapy through your private health insurance policy, contact us on 020 7637 7763 and we’ll be glad to help you out.
Confirming Your Appointment
Once you’ve contacted us to set up an appointment for an initial counselling session, we’ll ask you to secure the appointment with your credit card or debit card.
These card details are kept securely as a reservation. Your card will only be charged in your absence if you do not attend the scheduled appointment.
