The following is an example of a 5-day desert experience, with travel either side of the time in the desert. The travel arrangements and itinerary can be tailored to group requirements. Shorter desert programmes are available on request.
Usually we travel straight from Cairo airport, which is situated outside the centre of the city. The journey skirts round the traffic in the city centre and we drive directly to Siwa, or there may be an overnight stay in Matrouh – a coastal resort - with a 3 hour drive to Siwa on the following day. This will depend on flight times and itinerary.
Sample itinerary for individual or group programmes
Saturday: morning flight, arrive Cairo, drive to Matrouh (9 hours) in a private air-conditioned minibus, overnight Matrouh.
Sunday: swim & breakfast, drive to ranch, visit Siwa town, initial exercises at ranch, meet camels & evening meal
Monday: go into the desert
Tuesday: desert programme
Wednesday: desert programme, swim in mineral lake
Thursday: desert programme, swim in mineral lake
Friday: come out of desert, go to the ranch to refresh, dinner in Siwa & shopping
Saturday: morning drive to Matrouh (3 hours), overnight Matrouh, Sunday morning drive to Cairo airport (6 hours), fly Sunday afternoon.
